Here at MTPUMC, we are building a faith foundation in our children and also in our families.

Our classes meet during the 9:30 a.m. worship service. The first Sunday of each month, the children stay with their parents in worship to join the rest of the congregation in the taking of communion. The other 3-4 Sundays, they are dismissed to class after the first few songs have been sung. The children meet with a group of dedicated parents who bring fun and games to the lessons. Children in kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to join us.

Meets: Last Sunday of the month

Location: Youth Room (downstairs)

Leader: Danielle Lemasters

A youth program that utilizes contemporary media to reach youth in and outside the church.  A recent grant has enabled the program to have computers and link youth with one another and with missionaries around the world. Our Youth Group Ministry currently involves grades 6 - 12.

We would love to have you join us for a meeting or activity.  If you are interested please contact our Church Office.

We have a small group study in the fall and during Lent. Please join us!

In Making Sense of the Bible, Adam Hamilton invites us to an honest conversation about the Bible. The book begins with foundational questions such as how and when the Bible was written, who decided which books made it into the scriptures and why, how literally must we read it, is the Bible contradictory or is the Bible wrong?
The author also considers the real questions people frequently ask that continue to divide Christians and denominations alike.
This will be a DVD-and-Book Study.
The six-week study starts on Thursday, September 20 and ends on October 26th. We are meeting in the Parlor for the DVD Discussions from 7:00p.m. - 8:30 p.m. A copy of the book is $10. If you are interested in participating, please sign up in the Welcome Center to request a copy of the book. Checks can be made to Mt Pocono UMC with memo “Book study”, or please call the Church Office at 570-839-9902.

Your first contact with Mt. Pocono UMC when you walk through our doors!

As you enter the Welcome Center, our friendly Greeters welcome you and guide you to your name tags or make one for you if you do not have one. We always love to get to know you better and want to start with knowing your name!

Our ushers will provide you with the weekly bulletin and worship program as you enter the Sanctuary for the traditional services at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., and at the 9:30 a.m. contemporary praise service in the Covenant Hall, will also usher you to a seat.

We can always use another smiling face to join our team of greeters and ushers. If getting to know people and making visitors feel at home comes natural to you, please consider joining us! Contact the Church Office to let us know.

Our Missions and Outreach Team handles numerous projects every year that benefit the community, the church, college students, elderly, homebound, the homeless, nation-wide and internationally. We work hand in hand with many other organizations like UMCOR - the United Methodist Committee on Relief. Any help you can give is deeply appreciated be it financial, material, or your own volunteer time. God bless you as you reach out and make someone's day!

About Our Chancel Choir

Welcome to the Chancel Choir! As part of the music ministry at MTPUMC, we rehearse once a week in preparation for the 11 a.m. Sunday service. We sing a variety of music such as the traditional hymns, gospel, classical, Celtic, and many more. Through a variety of music, we seek to glorify God in song while building up the church through our testimony.

While the Chancel Choir sings during the 11 a.m. service, there are other performance opportunities as well. We sometimes sing during the contemporary service and also during holy days of the liturgical year. In addition, the Chancel Choir presents Easter and Christmas cantatas, which are a definite highlight!

There is an urgent need for new members as we seek to grow as the Chancel Choir. We supply the robes, music, and folders at no cost to you. There are no auditions whatsoever and we welcome anyone regardless of musical background. No previous musical training is necessary - only a joy for music and a desire to worship! If you are interested, just stop in on Thursday nights and we'll take it from there. You are most welcome and needed. Your chair is waiting...
