Drive-By Goodbye for Rev. Ashley and Family

MTPUMC Family,

As you know this Sunday, Pastor Kofi will preach his last message as our Pastor of Mount Pocono United Methodist Church. Unfortunately, the pandemic has prevented us from giving Pastor Kofi, Sarah and Sammy the sendoff that we had originally planned.  It has not only prevented us from our original plan but we haven't even been able to worship in person since March. However, we feel that many of us would still like to say good bye some way in person to the Ashley family.  Therefore, on Sunday we are planning a drive by good bye.  If you are able and would like to take part in this, please abide by the following procedures for everyone's safety and wellbeing.

If you are viewing our 9:00 Contemporary service then please come to the church at 10:45 to begin to line up. If you are viewing our 10:00 Traditional service, please head to the church afterwards to join the line.

  1. This is a drive by goodbye. Please do not get out of your car. If you are medically able, please wear a mask.
  2. We will start to line up at 10:45 a.m. The route will be that you come down Church Ave. past the parsonage and turn left into the church parking lot, entering under the canopy.  This is where you will say your goodbye to the Ashley Family.  NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE CHURCH LOT BY COMING UP CHURCH AVE FROM 611. If you come up Church Ave. from 611 you must go up Church Ave. turn around and get into the line. We are doing this so traffic is not backed up onto Rt. 611 therefore please follow the route.
  3. We know that we all have a lot to say to Pastor Kofi, however please also be aware that there are a lot of people who also want to have a turn, so we ask that you be mindful of that. We will have people directing traffic and they may be asking you to move along.
  4. Once you have said your goodbyes, we ask that you exit the parking lot via PNC bank and onto 611.

We do know that there may be some members of our church who may not check their email frequently or who do not have email at all, so as you are talking with our members this week, please share our plan, we would like as many people as possible to come out and wish Pastor Kofi, Sarah and Sammy well on the next chapter of their life.
